This position is part of the Clinical Operations Unit (COU) of the Infectious Diseases Clinical Research Consortium (IDCRC) Leadership Group. IDCRC is a NIH award to support the planning and implementation of clinical research that addresses the scientific priorities of NIAID in evaluating vaccines, other preventive biologics, therapeutics, diagnostics, including prognostics and predictive markers, and devices or the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases (malaria/neglected tropical diseases, sexually transmitted infections, respiratory infections and enteric diseases).

This is a part-time position, slated for 20 hours per week that will manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast paced, dynamic environment supporting a multi-institutional consortium. The individual in this position will be required to perform duties related to clinical trial budgeting, financial management, and communication.

Applicants should have excellent written and oral skills and be comfortable collaborating with senior, executive leadership from all LG partner institutions within the network, as well as Sponsor representatives, and be proficient working in the following: Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, SharePoint, Zoom, MS Teams; experience working with SmartSheet is a plus. Strong preference to candidates with experience in clinical trial budgeting and financial management.

  • Coordinates major financial reporting and budgeting activities.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinates the correction of account balances, resolves funding issues and maintains proper accounting controls and procedures.
  • Makes recommendations to management related to long-range financial and cash flow analyses.
  • Prepares and analyzes statistical and financial reports, financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • May assist in preparing, developing and monitoring department/organizational budgets.
  • May maintain grant agreements, policies and guidelines; coordinate grant reporting requirements; review grant funding source compliance; and negotiate grant funding with awarding agencies.
  • May perform indirect cost analysis.
  • May hire, train, and supervise a small staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance or a related field and four years of financial analyst or accounting experience, OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Experience with clinical trail budgeting.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
