Role Objectives & Responsibilities*

The Accounts Receivable Clerk will provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to meeting deadlines.

Check building suite mailbox daily

  • Process daily cash receipts from mail and other sources
  • Must be able to read tenant ledgers and reconcile discrepancies
  • Check bank statements daily to ensure all deposits posted appropriately
  • Apply all pre-payments and reconcile discrepancies
  • Review e-payment report and ensure any housing tenant payments were auto-applied to the correct general ledger account
  • Reconcile bank statements by comparing daily bank deposits
  • Log into housing portals and apply payments
  • Maintain clear, concise, detailed documentation to support all accounts receivable activities and accounting records
  • Upload documentation into imaging system
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirement Knowledge & Experience*

*
Minimum of 3 years of accounts receivable experience in high-volume environment.

  • Attention to detail and meeting deadlines is a must.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts receivable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.
  • Proactive individual able to work with minimal to moderate supervision.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and Word is required.
  • Ability to work and communicate with people in varying disciplines with different backgrounds.
  • Real Estate/Housing Authority industry experience a plus.
