Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking a Shopper Marketing Manager to support Walmart & Sam’s Club in the retail consumer business in increasing the subjective value of our GP brands and driving higher preference with the most valuable shoppers at these retailers.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Shopper Marketing, this position will work in partnership with marketing and sales teams and will be responsible for omni-channel marketing strategy development and leading the management of a variety of strategic and creative projects from strategy to execution and analysis - all focusing on converting the shopper into buyers of our categories and brands. The Shopper Marketing Manager is a thought leader and integral part of the cross-functional sales teams as well as the marketing brand building capability. Successful candidates are individuals that practice principled entrepreneurship and transformation to create the greatest value, and with solid analytic and economic-thinking skills. The role is based in Atlanta, GA but open to Remote.

  • Retailer/Shopper-centric Marketing Strategy

  • Shopper Program Measurement & Analytics

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Assist in the development of omni-channel marketing strategies and lead creative execution to help deliver business objectives across all fulfillment models, meet IDM (volume & sales) targets, and build mutually beneficial partnerships with Media Partners
  • Assist in the management of marketing investments and calendars in partnership with Brand Building, Sales & Customer Strategy team to develop holistic, retailer-specific programs
  • Develop functional understanding of all brands, Walmart & Sam’s Club, and marketplace by cultivating relationships with the key marketing counterparts and Media Partners
  • Set clear KPI’s for each campaign to prove impact and measure success aligned with business objectives. Leverage media scorecard & KPI’s to ensure progress and communicate campaign results back to Brand teams
  • Strategically build broad and deep relationships with key omni-channel marketing and retailer partners, including Walmart Connect & Sam’s Club Media Group, to help lead media & search relationship across the businesses
  • Integrate consumer/shopper insights, category knowledge, marketplace dynamics, competitive activity, and brand positioning to develop disruptive marketing programs via in-store & digital platforms, engaging and converting shoppers with the right message, at the right time and with the right channels, while increasing New to Brand, repeat trial and purchase frequency
  • Serve as a thought leader in the omni-channel marketing space by identifying innovation tests/experiments and advancing digital innovation/the roadmap to improve capabilities and performance across platforms
  • Inspire key shopper marketing agency partners to collaborate and aid in building high-impact, efficient programs, driven by insight-based creative briefs and strong relationships with account and creative teams
  • Stay up to date on the latest shopper trends and retailer strategies to determine the appropriate approach to continue generating conversions and optimizing ROI while driving mutual growth for retailers and GP
  • Challenge the status quo of how things work in the Paper category to knock down barriers to grow the business faster than competition

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 4-5 years of experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods industry
  • Experience in brand marketing, brand management, shopper marketing, digital marketing, eCommerce
  • Experience with promotions, coupons, and advertising content development
  • Experience leading external agency partners and cross-functional teams

What Will Put You Ahead

  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • Shopper Marketing or Retail Media experience
  • Prior P&L responsibility
