GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: United Digestive’s Director, Marketing & Communications will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will plan, develop, and coordinate practice marketing, public relations, advertising activities and manage marketing budgets. The Director, Marketing & Communications will lead and manage the activities of the Marketing Communications team as well as lead efforts to establish and enhance practice communication content and materials and serve as the practice liaison for all community, civic, and charitable organizations within the practice’s service areas.

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

REQUIREMENTS:

Duties may include but are not limited to:

· Support new business initiatives for United Digestive and drive new patient volume for its affiliated practices.

o Collaborate with Business Development and Provider Recruiting teams to develop key collateral and presentations needs to support their growth initiatives

o Develop customized marketing plans for all new physicians to support growth of their respective practices

o Partner with outside digital agency to implement comprehensive digital advertising and SEM campaigns across all partner practice brands

o Develop programs to retain and grow referring provider base to drive new patient referrals

o Maintain relationships with industry media outlets for ongoing promotion opportunities

o Onboard/integrate all new partner practices into our ongoing marketing strategies and resources

o Report status of key marketing initiatives and KPIs with monthly executive dashboard, including tracking ROI of efforts where applicable

· Ensure brand consistency and reputation integrity both within the professional and public community for United Digestive and its affiliated practices.

o Ensure relevancy, effectiveness, and strategy of all brand website and social channels

o Monitor provider and brand reputation using Binary Fountain and implement programs that continuously drive positive online reviews for these entities

o Develop and adhere to a regular PR cadence to keep United Digestive relevant in appropriate industry media channels; actively engage executive leadership in efforts

o Support physician participation in industry events and publications (e.g., published articles, speaking engagements, presentations, interviews)

o Ensure greater organization adheres to all established branding and messaging guidelines

o Point of contact for all media inquiries

· Lead comprehensive internal communication efforts to support an informed and engagement workforce

o Establish and adhere to an internal communication calendar when applicable to ensure fair, balanced, and consistent communications cadence

o Produce weekly UD Insight newsletter to share latest happenings across the organization, stories from the team, and industry news. Collaborate with department leaders and executive team for topics and approvals.

o Proactively collaborate with executive leadership team to identify and respond to internal communication needs or gaps; develop timely crisis communications as needed.

o Support corporate culture initiatives (VIBE) to enhance and maintain employee engagement (e.g., events, contests, branded premiums, etc.)

o Plan and host UD’s Annual Meetings & Awards Celebrations

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or related field required, Master’s degree a plus. Combined 10+ years in marketing, communications, or at a creative agency. Experience in staff management, project management and adhering to department budgets required. Must have strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and time management skills with consistent attention to detail. Must have strong writing and editing skills and the ability to create a wide variety of content. Experience in working with print and video production preferred; knowledge of web site content management systems and social media required; experience in healthcare-related field preferred.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Director, Marketing & Communications must haves:

  • Experience corporate communications for executive team (memos, video messages, crisis communications, press releases, etc.)
  • Experience working with media outlets and journalists
  • Experience in developing and implementing multi-channel digital marketing and communication plans
  • Experience leading a team of high-performing individual contributors and creatives
  • Experience working with leaders from across an organization (executive, director, manager, physician, etc.)
  • Experience working with and negotiating contracts with outside vendors, creative agencies, and freelancers.
  • Demonstrated experience in using various marketing channels to grow an organization
  • Understanding of basic marketing KPIs and ability to communicate findings to leadership team

PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment; frequent travel within the Metro area required.
