Sinclair is seeking a Director of NewsON CTV Sales, reporting to the VP/GM of NewsON and the Head of OTT Advertising for Sinclair. This position will focus on direct sales to agencies and brands. The Director of NewsON will be responsible for growing and managing key relationships with clients, leading media planning efforts, managing the ratecard and defining strategy & success metrics. This position is the central point of communication for multiple clients and is accountable for the accurate and timely flow of information between the clients, sales management and the ad ops fulfillment team. The key individual will have an extensive contact list and book of business. Revenue closure, new business development, account relationship building, and customer satisfaction are key responsibilities. This individual will also drive sales from internal Sinclair sales organizations whom also have the ability to sell NewsON. The location for this position is in New York.

Specific Duties include:

  • Define strategy, budget and implementation of campaigns, and KPI's to measure success
  • Identify and qualify new client prospects and secure appointments with decision-making personnel
  • Cultivate deep relationships with high-level personnel at direct client and agency partners
  • Work with Head of SBG Programmatic to drive NewsOn revenue from advertisers that want to transact via programmatic execution.
  • Evolve larger programmatic buyers to direct I.O. business
  • Manage the opportunity pipeline and forecast revenue accurately
  • Maintain pricing/rate card to maximize yield & grow eCPMs beyond programmatic base

Additional Responsibilities

  • Act as an evangelist for NewsON in the marketplace
  • Work with SBG Network of national sellers to ensure Sinclair's large network with multiple tentacles into agencies is being maximized.
  • Identify new non-traditional ad revenue streams
  • Develop direct political business
  • Develop thoughtful sales presentations in conjunction with analytics and marketing personnel
  • Oversee all internal account operations, troubleshoot issues, optimize campaigns, and assure 100% fulfillment
  • Working with buying platforms such as MediaOcean, Freewheel-Strata and HudsonMX to ensure Buying NewsOn is seamless process and inventory is exposed on these platforms.
  • Strong working knowledge, experience & ability to utilize the vast array of tools at your disposal such as Live Ramp IDL, 3rd party data targeting and optimization to create compelling stories for brands and agencies to buy Newson
  • Participate in weekly pipeline, and proposal review meetings

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Self-Starter that can thrive in both corporate and start-up environments.
  • Existing relationships and/or book of business at national holding companies and regional agencies
  • Understanding of programmatic SSP marketplace and its relationship and balance of revenue to achieve goals.
  • Ability to accurately identify and assess opportunities and apply resources and strategies appropriately
  • Knowledge of CTV environments including 3rd party tracking pixels for measurement and attribution.
  • Knowledge of Nielsen DAR and related digital validation/reporting measurement companies and their role in the sales and negotiation process.
  • Knowledge of 3rd party data targeting in CTV
  • Knowledge of Live Ramp I.D.L. based buying
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop direct political business
  • Identify new non-traditional revenue streams
  • Strong analytic and relationship building experience
  • Excellent knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and pricing models
  • Deep familiarity with ad campaign metrics and analysis
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills - creation and delivery
  • Ability to aggressively manage the successful execution of a sales strategy
  • Strong ability to collaborate and coordinate
  • Professional demeanor, integrity, discipline and a positive attitude


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience selling multi-platform, OTT or digital advertising to major accounts and advertising agencies
