ATLANTA FALCONS EXPERIENTIAL MARKETING MANAGER

Position Summary

The Atlanta Falcons brand marketing team is charged with developing and delivering a strategic, comprehensive direction for the Falcons brand. Aspects of this direction include, but are not limited to, brand narrative and creative direction development, ticket sales and service marketing, sponsorship marketing, grassroots marketing, retail marketing, influencer marketing and much more. This talented group leverages the entire marketing mix across brand strategy, advertising, digital engagement and media outreach to create emotional connections with our fans both locally and nationally.

The Experiential Marketing Manager , reporting to the Atlanta Falcons Director of Marketing, plays an essential role on the team as he/she/they will lead cross-functional, multi-platform initiatives from concept to implementation.

The Atlanta Falcons organization aims to have an authentic, direct relationship with its fans and broader communities throughout the state of Georgia, in particular Metro-Atlanta. This position works very closely with the community relations, corporate partnerships, digital and ticket sales and service teams to develop and execute a strategic plan that creates a multi-dimensional approach to creating engaging opportunities for the Atlanta Falcons brand to interact directly with Metro-Atlanta communities. As a primary responsibility, the experiential marketing manager oversees a grassroots marketing street team that activates fan engagement initiatives throughout Metro-Atlanta at festivals, schools, fairs and other community events. In addition, this position is responsible for identifying emerging opportunities for the Atlanta Falcons brand to find effective connection points with our fans to complement our in-stadium and digital engagement strategies.
This high-profile, fast-paced and challenging opportunity requires versatility and ability to lead in building a clear, detailed and integrated approach. This role is perfect for someone who is extremely organized, a self-starter and a team player, and has the ability to see projects from concept to implementation. This individual will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong team leadership orientation and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects at once and possess the ever-present curiosity to push the team to continue seeking innovative ways to effectively understand and engage the various audiences that we serve.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading the strategy and execution of the annual Falcons grassroots marketing plan
  • Partner with the director of marketing in the strategic oversight of the brand cross-functionally
  • Develop, manage and measure the Falcons grassroots marketing plan; daily coordination with other key stakeholders including, but not limited to, Corporate Partnerships, Ticket Sales and Service, Community Relations, Digital, Retail and Brand Communications
  • Hire, onboard and manage and the Falcons grassroots marketing street team
  • Continuously innovate to find new, valuable engagement opportunities for Falcons members across multiple platforms, primarily direct interaction in-market
  • Collaborate cross functionally (specifically with CRM analytics and Ticket Sales and Service teams) to develop insight-based activation targets (audiences and locations) that align with strategic sales opportunities for lead generation and prospect communication onboarding
  • Develop activation and engagement opportunities that align with corporate partnership objectives
  • Responsible for bringing innovative and experiential thinking to the team while managing deliverables in an effective, timely manner
  • Ensure effective budget planning and project management, in particular with street team working hours, activation development and merchandise ordering

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Four-year college degree
  • Minimum 3 years full-time experience across marketing and/or a related field within high-paced, demanding professional setting
  • Demonstrated experience working within an integrated marketing team
  • Event activation experience encouraged, not required
  • Experience with a sports-related brand is encouraged, not required
  • Results-driven mindset and approach that seeks to deliver incremental value for all key stakeholders

  • Proficient in project management, inclusive of strategy development, budget and timeline considerations and proper after-action review
  • General understanding of Atlanta market (demographics, trends, consumer behavior)
  • Ability to effectively distill actionable insights from consumer and market research
  • Proficient in digital and social media platforms and data analysis/measurement
  • Ability to work across multiple functions/departments to achieve consensus drive positive results
