Your day to day


Purpose of the Role:

This hands on role has a pulse on the GRS product and will acquire in-depth knowledge of the working of the application. Support GRS Product Management organization in driving strategy, new development, and performance. This role coordinates among business stakeholders, software developers, technical engineers, designers, data analysts, and other functional subject matter experts working in conjunction with the Product Manager on a comprehensive and holistic roadmap that address both short term and long-term needs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist with development and implementation of product strategy: future state based on understanding of how the business works and how users interact with the application. This should manifest itself in a roadmap of initiatives including small enhancement and content refreshments to existing products as well as new product needs.
  • Identify product opportunities in advance of obsolescence, inform GRS Product Leadership, and articulate topline business requirements
  • Work on cross-functional working teams to design, develop, and implement prioritized product roadmap
  • Communicate product information: specifications, value proposition, training tools and competitive information to stakeholders. Provide status updates to PMO for regular reporting cycles.
  • Manage queries from Stakeholders relating to functionality or incidents
  • Perform product demonstrations to Stakeholders (owners, guests and internal) and assist in product release promotions and marketing activities
  • Collaborate with training department to create appropriate Training materials
  • Provide updates to leaders and partners, sometimes catering the message depending on audience

  • Marketing & Loyalty: engagement related to revenue optimization of cross department initiatives and projects (such as room types and stay enhancements)

  • Vendors: interactions relating to upcoming and delivered functionality
  • Owners: have an owner mindset in the assessment and design of GRS

What we need from you


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Hotel Management, Computer Science/MIS/IT or equivalent combination of education and work related experience.

Experience:

  • 2 years in Hotel IT or IT Management or Hotel Management or Project Management work-related experience.

Skills & Technical Experience:

  • Able to recognize when and how to pivot with ease and effectively deliver.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Central Reservations Systems.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff. Demonstrated ability to present new concepts, research findings, and business outcomes to various groups including corporate clients, senior management, potential vendors, and industry consultants.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks required.
  • Basic experience in detailed product development discovery, documentation, and design work.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to perform research and use the results of analysis to make effective decisions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt tactics and strategies to fast moving, rapidly evolving marketplace required
  • Preferred/
  • Demonstrated hotel industry knowledge reflecting the entire customer experience journey (reservations – stay – loyalty – on-property, and ongoing relationship management).
  • Knowledge of travel distribution channels (web, CRO, gds, or tpi) and reservations sales “building blocks”.
  • Knowledge and experience with Revenue Management including price optimization, yielding, overbooking, forward looking projections/forecasting as well as competitive analysis

  • Majority of work is performed in a normal office environment within a Hybrid model
  • Some travel required as needed (generally less than 10%)
