We are looking for an Engineering Project Manager to join our team. The role will be responsible for traditional project management metrics of adherence to budget, timeline, and defined scope. As a project manager you have overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of projects. As Oatly is a rapidly expanding company, projects will support or drive growth and have immediate business impact. Projects will be relatively large capital initiatives to either support existing growth initiatives or directly add capacity.
Skills needed for successful execution of this role include strong technical acumen, flexibility/adaptability, conflict resolution, basic financial acumen and superior communication and organizational skills. This role will report into the Director of Engineering and will require physical presence at the project site, either through the ability to travel extensively or reside at the project site for extended periods of time.

Here are the things we want to hire you to do:

    • Plan, define and communicate project scope to stakeholders
    • Understand and maintain current and completed project documents, drawings, budgets, timelines, schematics, specifications and related items along with their associated revisions
    • Implement all safety policies and quality programs in collaboration with SHEQ team
    • Maintain strict control over the accuracy and quality for each work activity. Plan look-ahead schedules, maintain project schedule and budget controls
    • Identify and report problems or deficiencies to the technical leads and review any change orders with them prior to execution
    • Make miscellaneous purchases with technical leads’ approval
    • Manage the activities of subcontractors, vendors and labor by defining work scope, reviewing agreements and maintain a strict control over the budget for each work activity
    • Act as on-site supervision for the construction and buildout of projects
    • Mediate conflicts and manage priorities on site as necessary; identify and escalate issues when needed
    • Document on-site activities
    • Assist in preparation of project status reports by providing status and photos weekly. Provide plan/progress reports to the technical leads at the beginning and end of work weeks

Here are the things we think you need:

    • Technical background in Engineering or Operations preferred
    • Experience managing large capital projects (>$10 million)
    • At least 5 years of project management experience (PMP or PMA preferred)
    • Demonstrated capability to identify the critical path schedule and manage to it
    • Familiarity with ERP systems, especially with selection/implementation
    • Experience with clear and concise communication of project metrics, utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite (including Microsoft Project)
    • Background in food/pharma is a plus!

The salary for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. Compensation may also include bonus, commission, or equity as applicable. For the state of Colorado only, our good faith estimate of the range of starting pay for this role is $90,000 - $110,000.
