Position: Assistant Project Manager (Design/Build)
Start Date: March 2022
Hours: Full Time
Salary: $62k - $83k (depends on experience) plus full benefits (401k, 401k match, health insurance, vision & dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, PTO, Paid Holidays)
DESCRIPTION:
The APM will be the liaison between the Project Manager, Design Consultants, Client and
Subcontractors. This starts at our initial connection of conceptual design, planning and specifications to RFI’s, submittals, and project O & M manuals once the project is complete.
This role will contribute significantly to management of subcontractors in the field. This position is 50% in the office and 50% in the field. Aspire is a design-build firm, you should be comfortable in engaging/managing the design process with architects and engineers OR ready to roll up their sleeves and learn.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead construction projects ranging in size from 1500 SF to 10,000 SF
- Responsible for ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget
- Proactive at analyzing and responding to potential project disruptors
- Actively looks for ways to accelerate schedule
- Maintains control of all project documentation
- Maintains / updates project records
- Assists the Project Manager in creating and distributing the overall project schedule as well as the 3 week look ahead
- Study Job Specifications to determine appropriate construction methods
- Responsible for understanding project plans and answering field personnel questions
- Understands appropriate building codes/regulations and/or is comfortable using code books to verify appropriate code requirements
- Creates and distributes meeting minutes
- Main coordinator in project change order management, creation, and negotiation between ASPIRE and Owner
- Conducts and documents bi-weekly project owner’s meetings/decisions
- Coordinates project close out and punch list
- Assists PM with monthly subcontractor billings and pay applications
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage time, multitask and work in a fast paced environment
Key Requirements:
- B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering
- 2 – 4 years relevant work experience
- Reliable transportation and proof of insurance
- Intermediate level in computer software – Word, Excel, MS Project (or other scheduling software)
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must be able to walk, sit or stand for prolonged periods
- Must be able to walk over uneven surfaces
- Must be able to read and interpret construction plans

Pay: $62,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year
