With our Renovation Program, Modsy helps customers visualize their renovation or new build in a 3D model of their exact room so they can design their homes and shop with confidence. Modsy’s designers are a talented group of creatives who have a passion for technology and interior design.

The Role:
As a Renovation Design Assistant you’ll be a core member of the team bringing our mission to life and supporting the design team as we help customers reimagine their space and transform their homes online.

This full-time, remote contract opportunity is perfect for talented designers looking to flex their skills and gain experience as well as a great chance for seasoned designers to continue their practice from home.

By joining our team as a Renovation Design Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting our design team through the entire design process of the customer’s journey; from concepts through final designs and FFE. A mix of assigned work will vary based on demand and requires someone who is a team player, a fast learner, and is flexible.

The ideal candidate for this role is experienced in renovation design. You know how to read floorplans and elevations, and you have seen a renovation project through to completion (from design concept to installation).

This role is open to US residents in the following states: AL, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, MN, NC, NJ, NM, NY, OK, OR, SC, TN, TX, WA, WI

Responsibilities

    • Work with a team of renovation designers as we help customers reimagine their home based on their needs, budget, and constraints.
    • Assist design team in executing full renovation & new construction interior design services; including space planning and creation of design documents (moodboards, floorplans, elevations, 3D revisions, FF&E schedules, etc).
    • Assist in the selection and provide specifications for all materials including flooring, tile, wall treatments, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, lighting, appliances, and hardware.
    • Support the design team with furniture and decor styling.
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Collaborate well with other team members, departments, and 3D to consistently improve customer experience. This is a highly collaborative role.
    • Manage project timelines and escalation issues using our internal support team and proactively communicate with the internal team.

Qualifications

    • US Resident (Only United States residents will be considered)
    • Experience with E-design, interior design, architecture, or space-planning principles. Must have some renovation or new build experience.
    • BA in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred
    • Preferred if you hold a renovation certification, examples: AKBD (Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer), CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer), CMKBD (Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer), CAPS (Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist), LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, Accredited Professional)
    • Experience with Photoshop, 2020, Auto-CAD, SketchUp, Rhino, and/or Revit required
    • Natural ability to collaborate with teams – thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent project and time management skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work weekends and some holidays in accordance with business needs
    • Ability to work with remote teams asynchronously, and in different timezones
