The North American Infrastructure (NAI) group within Jacobs has approximately 3,000 employees who provide engineering design, construction, planning, environmental support, survey, design-build, project management and/or program management for our civil infrastructure clients. Position Summary:
Our team is experiencing exciting growth within our established practice and have a need for a designer/drafter to prepare engineering drawings of plans, elevations, cross sections, and details of bridge structures from rough sketches and/or from general engineering design information according to established standards and procedures.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work as part of a team to see a bridge design project through to completion.
  • Exhibit high level of attention to detail.
  • Exhibit planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure on multiple project deadlines.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to develop design deliverables.
  • Actively promote and contribute to the successful completion of projects from initial concept, through the planning process to implementation.
  • Assume responsibility and meet or exceed deliverable deadlines for own portion of the project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Compile data and perform routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Here’s What You’ll Need:


Required Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of previous bridge design experience.
  • Ability to become proficient in GDOT drafting standards.
  • Previous experience in the use of MicroStation with InRoads.
  • Eagerness to become proficient with Open Roads Designer and Open Bridge Modeler.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills including the proficient use of MS Office tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GDOT Bridge drafting experience.
  • Previous experience in the use of Open Roads Designer and Open Bridge Modeler.
  • An Associates degree in Design or Drafter.
