As a Project Manager/Planner in the Atlanta studio, you will:

  • Understand design philosophies, overall building design concepts, design software technology, and delivery methods.
  • Manage project teams, foster collaboration, and demonstrate strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance, design ideas, and successful project delivery.
  • Prepare and negotiate client and consultant proposals, fees, schedules, and contracts.
  • Lead efforts in developing, validating, and negotiating project scope and fee, budget, and scope of services during the marketing and contract development process.
  • Monitor the performance of the project team and approach to assure that our quality standards and design goals are being met.
  • Be primary coordinator of all communication between the client and Perkins&Will (including Managing Principal, Design Principal, and Technical Principal) ensuring timely resolution of client concerns and management of business issues including contracts and additional services.
  • Be responsible for meeting or exceeding the financial goals established for the project and providing timely and appropriate information to Project Accountant to initiate invoicing.
  • Analyze sites, programs, and other key project elements through quantitative and qualitative means.
  • Develop analytical and design drawings throughout the design process using analog (through sketching and physical modeling) and digital means (through digital analyses, sketching, and modeling).
  • Strategize, outline, mockup, and develop design documentation including creating and interpreting maps and diagrams, master plan reports, design guidelines, and client-ready presentation materials.
  • Coordinate all aspects of project deliverables.
  • Review, evaluate, and integrate zoning and policy requirements into project design.
  • Develop strategies for key urban frameworks and systems including but not limited to circulation, open space, buildings, and infrastructure.
  • Participate in marketing opportunities and begin to develop successful client experiences.
  • Collaborate with client and/or public to create strategic planning options.
  • Lead project-related client and public discussions and presentations.

To join us, you should have:

  • A professional degree in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • 7-10+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software; Revit strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge in programming, planning, and site analysis.
  • Experience in all phases and aspects of a project.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn.
  • Collaborative and professional work ethic.
  • LEED AP or obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Licensure preferred.
