This position is within the Design and Construction Services department of Facilities Management Services.
Duties to include:
  • Reviews and approves payment at appropriate times to the contractor and architects and engineers.
  • Monitors construction progress to insure that schedule, cost control and quality standards are being achieved.
  • Reviews drawings and coordinates review sessions of drawings with all parties involved to assure that the users program needs have been met. Oversees and coordinates project meetings.
  • Works closely with Purchasing to place projects out for bid and assists with the bidding process, contractor and designer selection, and contract award.
  • Provides price estimates to end users as needed.
  • Selects architects and engineers to provide drawings for the university that will meet the end users needs and also meet code and university design standards.
  • Monitors, reviews and recommends approvals on all change orders.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
A successful candidate should possess:
  • Must have Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, engineering or construction management and five years of work-related experience.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have estimating experience.
  • Must be knowledgeable of building codes.
  • Must have experience with AutoCAD, word processing and a spreadsheet program (i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Experience with finish selections and furniture selections including installation management.
