Responsibilities:Primary Responsibility:
Lead scope of work development for maintaining existing facilities to include layouts, bidding, material handling and refrigeration engineering. Lead the development of CPERFs through the development of RFQ/RFP and Scope of Work documents. Scope maintenance engineering design options to match business requirements. Provide capital budgetary estimates. Lead, direct and work with Facility Services Managers, Regional Facility Services Managers, and Regional Facility Service Directors in carrying out all responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Essential Functions:
  • Identifies current and future maintenance engineering needs through data analysis, and establishing rapport with differing levels of personnel and technicians to understand warehouse requirements
  • Achieves financial objectives by leading the preparation of 3 year Capital Expense and ROI budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Supports and leads the successful implementation of annual capital projects in the Region
  • Ensures compliance with mechanical, electrical and all other municipal and state codes
  • Interpret, train, and implement Capital Policies and Procedures across regions
  • Accountable for Capital Expense / ROI tracking and providing weekly / monthly updates
  • Develop monthly updates for CapEx / ROI projects for review at PMO
  • Leads Project Management of Maintenance Capital Expense and ROI for Regions
  • Develops preliminary solution concepts for warehouse needs with regards to ROI projects and Maintenance Engineering
  • Provide direction to in-house ACAD personnel to layout facility and provide drawing solutions and/or modifications clearly, in executive-type presentations
  • Work with regional general managers and facility management to develop Maintenance Engineering solutions, cost estimates and implementation schedules
  • Assist in supplier selection phase in developing detailed RFPs for obtaining competitive bids; analyze bids to determine successful providers; provide recommendations through qualitative and quantitative comparisons
  • Work with various general contractors in developing solutions for Floors, Walls, Docks, Dock Plates, Roofing, Paving, Electrical, Utilities, Lighting, Fire Protection, Refrigeration, Mechanical Equipment, and Building Structure
  • Assist personnel with cost justifications for proposed ROI projects (engineering, sales, finance, legal, field maintenance, operations, etc..) and vet projects for ensuring engineering scope
  • Keep abreast of the latest technology in building design, refrigeration systems, controls, and evaluate for applications for use in Americold facilities
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5 year Engineering Management experience or 7+ years of experience in leading Industrial Refrigeration, Engineering Management, Automation Design, Construction Management, or Mechanical Design
  • Good verbal and written communication and strong analytical skills
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Experience working within CMMS and Project Management systems, SAP Preferred
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Ability to excel in team working environment
  • Strong customer orientation and presentation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact with all management levels within the Americold organization, both up and down as well as with external contacts.
  • Solid computer skills required, primarily with Microsoft Excel and Project software. Knowledge and skills using AutoCAD or simulation software is a plus
  • Must be able to travel approximately 75% of the time

  • Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management
