22squared is looking for an Associate Director of Social Strategy to join our growing team and drive meaningful connections with our clients’ audiences through social media.
This role reports to the Director of Comms Strategy. It will translate brand social efforts into consumer action and, ultimately, business results while staying focused and grounded in our overall campaign strategy.
Our ideal candidate knows social in and out. This person understands how to use data, intuition, and cultural insights to map out engagement strategies and social channel opportunities to each phase of the consumer journey. They are passionate about the intersection of culture and technology, with a firm grasp on why and how people use social media to communicate and consume content.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop the brand and campaign-level communication and content strategies based on business objectives, consumer behavior, and channel best practices.
- Create communication plans with outputs including consumer journeys, audience insights, messaging strategies, channel roles & opportunities, and content ecosystems.
- Maintain strong partnerships with platform partners (Facebook/Instagram, Pinterest, Google, etc.) to identify creative opportunities and best practices.
- Support intrinsically social creative development in partnership with Creative teams.
- Stay current on the latest trends in customer experience, consumer journeys, digital platforms, and social media, and determine how to keep our clients on the cutting edge.
- Lead social-specific playbooks – specifically outlining engagement strategies and developing social response matrices to show how we respond to users.
- Develop briefs rooted in social-first thinking, ensuring all social creative is grounded in audience insights and maps to platform usage and trends.
- Develop workflows for war-room-style information sharing to collaborate on any real-time content creation
Agency Integration
- Be a solid partner to Strategy, Creative, Media, and Analytics teams, helping align all social efforts cohesively with other channels.
- Collaborate with the Strategy team to understand and deliver insights rooted in the intersection of the audience, channel insights, and the brand message/goals.
- Work with the Analytics team to define the measurement strategy for the Social Engagement Strategies, including defining what success looks for in building social communities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years experience in a social or communications strategy role; entertainment, CPG, and QSR industry experience a plus.
- Superior technical understanding of social media platforms
- Unwavering attention to detail
- Deep knowledge of social media best practices, trends, and new platforms
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent strategic and thought leadership skills
- Confident and effective communicator
- An entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
- Flexibility in schedule, with ability to work weekends and evenings when dictated by client campaign work
- Ability to work remotely and independently
