Kilpatrick Townsend a large international law firm, is seeking a Trademark Analyst for our IP Department in our Atlanta office. This position will be part of our team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff providing a high level of service to both internal and external clients. Under the general supervision of department attorneys, client teams, and paralegals, trademark analysts work as part of a team to provide legal services for clients. Principal responsibilities are to provide trademark prosecution, administrative and billable support to the trademark client teams.

Performs trademark prosecution tasks including but not limited to:

  • Review official notices and registrations for accuracy
  • Assist with powers of attorneys and legalizations
  • Assist with the change of address and chain of titles filings
  • Draft reporting and reminder letters to clients
  • Assist with post-registration maintenance, including research of use/specimens, and conduct related-use analysis
  • Assist client teams in preparation of commercial search assessments
  • Updates client docket databases with prosecution updates
  • Maintains prosecution status updates charts and assist with preparing weekly client meeting agendas
  • Works on various other trademark projects as needed, both administrative and legal

Minimum Requirements

  • Four-year degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years equivalent IP experience.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Honesty, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong orientation toward detail; strong editing and proofreading abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
  • Cooperative and flexible team-oriented attitude.
  • Available for after-hours and weekend work, as needed.
