The Role

The Legal Administrative Assistant will commit to working with our team for a minimum three (3) month assignment. Our department’s members are the Senior Vice President, Head of Legal and Government Affairs; Vice President, Corporate Counsel; Legal Counsel; and Contract Specialist. The Legal Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the intake and processing of regulatory and consumer complaints; provide support for corporate and regulatory filings and board and management reports; manage the filing of corporate documents on behalf of the team; and assist with general file management and other administrative tasks to support the team. The role is meant for an organized self-starter who is able to collaborate effectively with the team to deliver commercial and practical solutions to legal, corporate governance, and regulatory issues.


What You’ll be Doing as Legal Administrative Assistant:

  • Manage the intake and processing of regulatory and consumer complaints and assist the team’s attorneys in responding to those matters;
  • Provide support for the preparation of corporate and regulatory filings, board and management reports, and responses to subpoenas;
  • Maintain the electronic files of the US Legal department;
  • Look for ways to improve the Legal department’s processes
  • Maintain close working relationships with internal clients; and
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

  • Experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant, Paralegal, or Legal Secretary of two (2) or more years in a corporate or law firm setting.
  • A drive to play an important role and contribute to the success of a lean, collaborative, and ambitious business and with people who pride themselves on excellence, quality service, and reputation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently, and in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong service focus with ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers and partners.
  • Strong knowledge and experience using Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred: Experience with Thomson Reuter’s Legal Tracker and HighQ solutions.
