Habitat for Humanity International is currently seeking a Sr. Specialist - Donor Public and Media Relations, who will be responsible for helping the Public and Media Relations team execute the public relations and media benefits tied to HFHI’s corporate partners. The Sr. Specialist will work with members of the Donor Communications team to execute effective public relations and media strategy that elevates corporate partnerships and provides recognition for major donors. In this role, the Sr. Specialist will write news releases and other media-related materials and content to support partnerships with corporate, foundation and cause marketing donors. They are also responsible for conducting proactive media outreach, assisting with interview briefing materials, and supporting major campaigns and initiatives as it relates to partner engagement. The Sr. Specialist will also be responsible for producing a bi-weekly media mentions newsletter, which features Habitat and partner news.

This position will be based at our Administrative headquarters located in Atlanta, GA. and requires up to 10% travel.

  • Collaborate with the Donor Communications team to execute effective public relations and media strategy that elevates corporate partnerships.
  • Draft donor-related media materials including press releases, media advisories, talking points and interview prep materials.
  • Identify proactive media opportunities and conduct media outreach that can generate positive media coverage for Habitat, partners, foundations and other campaigns and initiatives; assist with coordinating interviews and responses for donor-involved media pitches and inquiries; establish and maintain effective relationships with media.
  • Support donor-involved media events and campaigns.
  • Produce bi-weekly newsletter, which features partner news.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Pursuant to current HFHI policy, this position requires full vaccination against COVID-19, except to the extent such requirement is prohibited by applicable law.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • At least 5 years of directly related professional experience.
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills, with mastery of AP Style.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. media, with proven track record of placements in top news media.
  • History of successfully implementing public relations campaigns and initiatives.
  • Thorough knowledge of current and emerging public relations issues and trends.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and cross-departmentally.
