Human Resources Manager

The Georgia Power Human Resources Manager will direct major HR disciplines and design strategies to deliver insights to the business. In addition to their role as a strategic consultant to cross company leaders, they will also lead a group of HR Business partners and create common approaches to policy and program implementation to ensure cultural wellness and ongoing positive employee relations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designs and drives policy and program implementation including leadership effectiveness/development, culture, performance management, talent development/ succession planning, compensation, and benefits, etc.
  • Partners with leadership teams to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • A strategic value driver in HR who provides data insights to leaders and other HR professionals to drive better decision making
  • A student of the utility industry and HR discipline to offer best practices and knowledge to improve client support
  • Maintains a work environment that emphasizes professional excellence, teamwork, client satisfaction and personal growth
  • Effectively partners with Corporate Partners and peer HR Delivery teams
  • Guides and develops a team of HR Business Partners
  • Uses knowledge to predict needs of the business and applies that knowledge to build solutions for their clients

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to ensure the delivery of high level of HR services to the client
  • Ability to effectively challenge/coach executives, managers & others; effectively interact with employees at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective credible/trusting client relationships adapting approach/style to the customers' needs
  • Consulting, coaching, strategic/critical thinking, influencing, conflict resolution, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience with major HR disciplines (employee relations, benefits, compensation, employment law, performance management, affirmative action, workforce planning, leadership development, HR policies/practices, laws/regulations, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze information and drive business insights
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to diplomatically offer objective and creative solutions
  • Ability to respect and maintain confidential and sensitive information
  • High level of personal initiative/responsibility, results oriented, self-directed
  • Ability to champion and influence change and a willingness to take risks
  • Must demonstrate behaviors that role model Our Values
  • Flexible schedule with an ability to telecommute, on average, 2 – 3 days per week

Experience:

  • BA/BS in Business related fields
  • 7-10 years of HR experience or experience consulting in an HR space required
