The purpose of this position is to support, with supervision, utility management and energy and sustainability reporting for a large industrial client with a portfolio of 300+ properties in North America & LATAM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares budgets for utilities; coordinates and reports on energy-related projects on behalf of client accounts. Prepares monthly variance and energy service status reports. Monitors and reports on energy, water and waste use, bill gap analysis and spending trends.
Reviews and understands utility rates and includes this data in reporting as appropriate. Maintains, reviews and analyzes utility bill data. Works with utilities to resolve billing issues and with the facilities teams to resolve consumption variance issues.
Understands and can calculate emissions for all scopes, carbon reporting, renewable energy, waste reporting, carbon offsets, energy efficiency in a manufacturing environment, industrial processes and refrigerant management.
Understands building energy consumption profiles. Has a working knowledge of building systems, energy and water efficiency projects and industry standards for measurement & verification of energy savings. Provides energy and sustainability related inputs to preventative maintenance and engineering teams as directed.
Assists in developing site energy and water profiles. Facilitates the maintenance and reporting of energy, water and waste benchmarks and performance metrics. Is familiar with industry benchmarks including Energy Star Portfolio Manager.
Under supervision, participates in inspections, surveys and analysis on the sites under management.
Understands past, present and future energy plans and performance.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics or similar program. 5 years of relevant Utilities/Energy experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Entry level knowledge with analytic and research software programs such as R-programming or S-system used to analyze data
Entry level knowledge with statistical information and graphs and able to perform calculations and analyze that information
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Must possess a thorough knowledge of the use, setup and operation of Windows-based computers and desktop applications such as MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint
Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
