Human Resources Business Partner

The Novelis North America team is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner. The person in this role will report to the Sr. Human Resources Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing a wide range of strategic human resource services including organization planning and design, compensation, recruitment and selection, employee training and development, employee relations, and change management to Novelis North America Regional Office employees. The role also interacts with Corporate, Regional Office and plant-based Human Resources representatives to align on processes, to provide mentorship, collaborate and share standard methodologies.

This role also serves as a consultant to management on Human Resource related issues. A successful HRBP will live the Novelis Culture Beliefs, act as an employee champion and change agent who can quickly and sustainably develop trust of managers and employees alike

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to client groups on best practices on a variety of employee related issues and situations.
  • Provide support to employees and managers for timely completion of HR processes.
  • Drive Talent Management initiatives in support of employee development and engagement across client groups.
  • Assist with addressing performance-related issues.
  • Craft and build positions most effective to support the business.
  • Work with Comp to evaluate jobs to resolve accurate job band.
  • Assist with compensation recommendations for internal employees to maintain internal equity.
  • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition (TA) CoE to fill positions quickly, with the best available talent.
  • In partnership with TA CoE, coordinate onboarding process to ensure completion of all pre-employment steps as well as new hire paperwork, HRIS data set up and ongoing support to new hires.
  • Connect with payroll and benefits on employee status changes (ex. new hires, transfers, off-cycle pay increases, salary adjustment, relocations, terminations).
  • Maintain accurate employment records in the Novelis systems of record, follow established processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Five+ years of progressive human resources experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Self-motivation to get results and complete tasks independently
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to connect with all levels in the organization clearly and concisely
  • Must be able to coordinate and prioritize engineering decisions and balance multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail.
  • Experience with HR systems (HRIS, ATS, etc.) preferred
Location Profile:
Novelis’ Global Corporate Headquarters is located in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta Georgia and employs approximately 250 people. It is co-located with Novelis’ North America regional office which employs approximately 225 people.
