Under direct supervision, the Associate Human Resources Generalist provides Human Resources (HR) assistance for the Georgia State Financing & Investment Commission (GSFIC), Georgia Building Authority (GBA), and State Properties Commission (SPC). Assists with multiple human resources functions, including, but not limited to, transactions, recruitment, orientation, benefits, FMLA, leave/timekeeping, HR/Payroll actions, filing, and other duties as assigned and required. The Associate Human Resources Generalist also performs other job-related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists with recruitment as assigned
- Prepares and routes Personnel Action Request Forms (PAs) as assigned
- Enters and processes transactions, payroll changes, and payroll actions into PeopleSoft HRIS system ensuring the accuracy of information in a timely manner
- Assists with employee benefits as assigned
- Reviews timecards for hourly and full-time employees in the Time & Labor system
- Assists with timekeeping system entries; verifies that timecards are completed each pay period
- Conducts or assists with New Employee Orientation (NEO)
- Assists with administration of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
- Assists with Open Enrollment
- Assists with inquiries and requests for information
- Provides a high level of customer service to internal and external customers and clients
- Prepares reports, conducts research, and completes special projects as assigned
- Provides assistance/support to the HR team as assigned
- Maintains a high standard of confidentiality
- Develops and maintains knowledge of laws and regulations in the Human Resources field by reading appropriate books, journals, and other literature and attending related seminars, conferences, and participating in webinars
- Researches pertinent information including policies, procedures, and processes related to job functions to ensure proper procedures and processes are utilized and followed in performing job duties
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of an Associate’s degree and one (1) year of Human Resources experience;
OR
Three (3) years of Human Resources experience.
Starting Salary: 45,000 - 48,000 (Salary commenustrate with experience.
