Early Careers Coordinator

HR/Talent Coordinator, WestRock Early Careers

The Early Careers Coordinator will work on a combination of strategic projects and events that fall under WestRock Early Careers. Position will support a team of four with support for university, military and veteran recruiting and program initiatives.


  • Schedule interviews and communicate interview details.
  • Assist with sourcing intern, co-op and full-time candidates as well as maintain candidate pipelines and help ensure that all candidates have a point of contact.
  • Work closely with facility HR professionals to develop and track metrics for early career candidate sourcing, hiring, placement, retention and diversity.
  • Organize and manage job postings for early career roles.
  • Provide the highest level of service to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to ensure candidate records are complete and that the recruitment process is accurately tracked and in alignment with established work processes.
  • Work as part of a dedicated team and take on other related tasks to improve candidate and customer experience for WestRock Early Careers.
  • Be a communications and relationship champion for our early career candidate pipeline, existing early career associates and internal customers.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent skills working with MS O365 suite of products including TEAMS, Planner, Word and Excel; prefer experience with Yello or other Talent Acquisition software
  • Demonstrated ability to provide the highest level of customer service and communication
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment while driving the interview process from start to finish
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A background in a client-facing role

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Build a talent pipeline that contributes to entry-level hiring needs
  • Partner with businesses to drive campus recruitment strategy for intern/co-op and entry level hiring needs

What you need to succeed:

  • Must have recruiting support experience. Campus and university exposure preferred. Military and veteran recruitment support experience is a plus.
  • Energetic, self-starting, good communicator
  • Strong interest in building a career in Talent Acquisition
  • Should have recently earned a college degree in a major closely related to: Human Resources, Business, or other HR related degree
  • Research ability, problem solving skills, attention to detail and critical thinking abilities
  • Strong Excel skills working with formulas, linking, and/or macro functions.
  • Basic understanding and working knowledge of productivity applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of Office 365
  • Experience using Yello preferred. ATS software experience required.
