Job Overview
The HR Specialist assists the HR Manager and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of Human Resources in areas that may include some or all of the following: policies and procedures, recruiting, onboarding, maintaining employee files, employment verifications, employee relations, engagement and communications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the utmost confidentiality regarding employee records and all sensitive information in which this position comes in contact
  • Assist with recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel to include sourcing, requisition management, interview scheduling and initial screening of candidates.
  • Coordinate and properly process pre-employment screening, new hire paperwork and assists with onboarding.
  • Input employee changes into payroll system; verify changes made by other HR team members
  • Establish, organize and maintain department records, ensuring complete accuracy
  • Recognize potential employee relations issues in a proactive manner and escalate all matters outside scope to the HR Manager
  • Ensure all regulatory workplace site posters and required documents are up-to-date and properly displayed at the worksite.
  • Participate as a member of the Safety Committee, attend meetings, ensure all safety standards are being followed, contact and work with management to ensure safety guidelines are being followed.
  • Respond to employment verifications
  • Additional duties include answer incoming calls and route as necessary, warmly greet visitors and notify appropriate AGS party of their guest’s arrival, provide proper direction to unsolicited applicants and salespersons, notify AGS parties of mail and package delivery available for their retrieval
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • May assist with facility-related needs
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Skills/Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and skills in all MS Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Previous recruiting experience a plus
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Jobvite Applicant Tracking System and/or other HR systems is preferred
  • Experience with job recruiting software such as LinkedIn, Glassdoor and Indeed is preferred
  • Exceptional multi-tasking and organizational skills with attention to detail and emphasis on quality, time management and follow-through with tight deadlines
