Position Purpose:
  • The Manager, Sales Development is responsible for supporting the ongoing refinement of the sales development team to support the incremental growth strategy of our Pro sales teams
  • Execute strategic growth initiatives within The Home Depot to enable the company to continue meeting/exceeding our growth objectives/strategy
  • Train, coach, and develop sales development representatives on The Home Depot's customer value proposition
  • Responsible for driving and maintaining elevated performance and productivity to effectively build lead pipeline to achieve sales goals and meet operational metrics
  • Must develop recommendations, prioritize issues, and brainstorm/develop solutions to deliver value to sales associates and customers by meeting and working with a diverse group of people
  • Candidate must have deep industry (home improvement retail, distribution) and customer knowledge (B2B), and interest in driving large change initiatives
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
  • Partner cross-functionally with organizational teams, internal and external clients, management and others in driving change within Home Depot
  • Develop Recommendations: Prioritize issues and brainstorm/develop solutions and recommendations by working with a diverse group of people (store personnel, merchants, other HD companies, non-HDcompanies, vendors, etc.)
  • Evaluate Results: Analyze the financial results of initiatives versus projections through financial analysis, control stores, and other benchmarks. Evaluate the operational issues of initiatives by walking stores, talking to associates, talking to customers and interviewing merchants
  • Project Management: Handle the day to day issues associated with implementing a new initiative. These may include working with store planning, visual merchandising, store and divisional associates
  • Use diverse problem-solving methodologies to understand the fundamental parts of the problems and communicate the solutions effectively
Nature and Scope:
Reports to Senior Manager of Pro Business
No direct responsibility for supervising others.

Environmental Job Requirements:
Travel: Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Additional Environmental Job Requirements:
Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
Standard Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience:
3 years

Physical Requirements:
Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in leadership and/or workforce management
  • Experience in defining pipeline management and outbound sales development
  • Operations and sales acumen with demonstrated ability to create business process and recommend implementation plans
  • Skilled in gaining feedback direct from customers and associates, and translating feedback into process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams and associates in SSC and field roles
  • Ability to work with technology business partners to define, test, and deliver capabilities to customer and sales associates
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Tableau, SalesForce, and call center applications
