Commercial Sales Trainee
Program Overview
Our program is structured to provide an impactful experience that will propel our entry level commercial talent into a successful career at WestRock. We will provide a comprehensive experience that enables individuals to understand the many tenants of our corrugated business and how each one contributes to our organizational goals. Our Commercial Sales Trainee will engage in an 18-month rotational, focused on immersion experiences with: R&D, Product Testing, Design, Operations, Customer Service, Marketing and Insights, and Commercial Sales. At the completion of our program, the Commercial Sales Trainee will transition into a full-time role within our organization.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Some degree of technical and business acumen relevant to the packaging industry
  • Demonstrates drive and initiative
  • Heightened ability to critical think and problem solve
  • Effective project management skills
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams effectively
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel domestically
Education/Experience
  • Four-year college degree from accredited institution with an emphasis in Packaging Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, or related discipline preferred
  • Authorization to work in the US on a permanent, full-time basis is required
  • Ability to temporarily relocate to a different state within the United States for a rotational assignment is required
