We are seeking candidates for a Director of Sales – National Accounts role responsible for achieving growth goals against established KPI’s within the retail sector. The Director will own and lead a team responsible for bringing our strategy to life at retail with the top national accounts across the country. The Director will also provide sales direction to assigned broker partners while driving sales with distributors and operators.
Responsibilities:
- Develop go-to-market strategy based on retailers and consumer needs
- Develop people to ensure a successful team member journey
- Develop the business through a world-class retailer/customer experience
- Deliver against distribution & volume targets while acting as the plant-based expert to your retailers
- Collaborate and lead key broker partnerships to deliver against growth targets
- Partner in the development of the Planterra/Ozo story from both a consumer and retailer perspective
- Analyze, track and report performance to leadership team, and provide details around accounts progress and partnerships
- Present a forward-looking approach and recommendations of the plant-based landscape including competitive activity
- Plan, schedule, develop, and execute sales meetings and new product introductions with brokers, distributors and retail customers
- Support retail business development activities including food shows, sales meetings and trade shows
- Effectively manage trade dollars to support sustainable growth initiatives with key customers and distributors
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to travel 50%+
- Proven leader in CPG space, with examples of people and customer development required
- 5+ years' experience in retail sales required - natural food products and/or plant-based food products experience will be given preference
- Ability to represent Planterra and effectively sell our brand and story
- Proven track record of innovation sell-in and successful account management
- Strong computer skills – specifically Microsoft Office
- Collaborative, accountable, results driven and detail-oriented
- Self-starter
- Ability to multi-task
- Analytical and process oriented, including a strong understanding of Nielsen/IRI/SPINS
- Ability to communicate effectively with leadership teams internally and externally
The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
- Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment
- Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and holidays
- 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule
- Base salary range of $140,000 – 170,000
- This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program
